In order to bundle all projects under one roof as part of the Group-wide digitalisation strategy, Klöckner & Co founded its own Group Centre of Competence for Digitalisation, kloeckner.i, in Berlin in 2014. The main tasks of kloeckner.i are the development, testing and Group-wide rollout of digital solutions as well as the management of the Group's online marketing activities. Currently, kloeckner.i employs around 90 people in the areas of product innovation and development, UX and design, online marketing, business analytics and customer care.
Klöckner & Co is one of the world's largest producer-independent steel and metal distributors. For four years now, Klöckner has relied on diva-e as a strong partner in the development of digital solutions. The aim of the project was to make the sales effort easier for small and medium-sized business customers in particular, as well as to drive forward Klöckner's digitalisation.
The successful project was implemented in two phases: First, a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) was implemented - the successful go-live took place after only four months of project duration. In the next step, diva-e ensured the implementation of a fully functional B2B online shop.
diva-e developed a marketplace for Klöckner & Co consisting of a B2B online shop, an integrated offer from third-party suppliers and an administration portal for contract customers. An SAP price calculation in Hybris and a data warehouse connection contribute significantly to process optimisation at Klöckner & Co.
