The dog is known to be human's best friend - and that's how he should be treated! Besides love and respect (and a balanced portion of education), the food is in the first place. This is the corporate philosophy of the dog and cat food manufacturer Terra Canis.
Since 2005, the Munich-based company has been focusing on the highest-quality food-grade ingredients and thus leads the pet food market in the premium segment. Since then, not only pet lovers have enjoyed the many creative creations for their four-legged friends, but also the Nestlé Group, which has supplemented and advanced its pet supplies division with the premium products from Terra Canis since 2017.
Before working with diva-e, the Terra Canis online store was characterized by outdated technology, which made it difficult to optimally exploit the existing sales potential. The website was not supported by mobile devices and an integration of third-party systems could only be realized with a very high effort. diva-e was commissioned in 2015 to create a new design for the online store, to implement the replatforming from Oxid eSales to Magento, and to expand the SEO area with the customer. Since then, diva-e has been supporting the online store and, in its role as Transactional Experience Partner, implemented a variety of new features with the customer.
The goal of the collaboration was the introduction of a new, flexible and future-proof e-commerce platform based on Magento. The project focused on a new responsive design with a target group-oriented approach, which was to be rolled out in three languages for three different store views. The online store's perfect accessibility was to be guaranteed across all end devices. In addition, outdated structures had to be dissolved and replaced by new, flexible processes.
The certified Magento specialists from diva-e developed an online store based on Magento 1 Enterprise in an agile Scrum project. Both the implementation of the replatforming and the technical support as well as the continuous expansion of the platform were carried out by diva-e. As a Transactional Experience Partner (TXP), diva-e was also tasked with managing the client's entire online marketing in addition to the store implementation.
The new online store went live in 2016 and has been impressing customers ever since with its target group-oriented visual language and excellent user experience. In 2018, diva-e translated the user feedback collected to date on the "Monthly food subscription" into technical tasks and subjected the feature to a relaunch. At the beginning of 2020, another, larger feature went live: diva-e established the process for the EU Threshold Delivery Regulation and the correct deduction of VAT by delivery country for the customer. An automated process that checks all orders shipped abroad in the background against the defined sales thresholds ensures legal compliance for the customer.
