Leading Frankfurt datacentre operators Accelerated IT Services and First Colo merge

Two Frankfurt-based datacentre operators, Accelerated IT Services and First Colo, are merging and will in future operate as a single entity on the market.

The transaction was initiated by diva-e Digital Value Enterprise GmbH, which successfully integrated First Colo GmbH in 2015. Employing over 500 people, diva-e offers innovative services covering digital strategy consultation, implementation and performance marketing as well as operating platforms. With a turnover of just under €55 million, it is one of the Top 10 companies in the German digital sector.

The combined company already offers room for more than 25,000 servers over 2,000 square metres of floor space and currently supports around 500 clients with IT infrastructure solutions.

“After an intensive and considered process, we decided to merge with our colleagues at First Colo GmbH and to join the diva-e Group. As well as countless synergies, a strong team, the additional datacentre and a bright future, our focus has always been on how to serve our clients even better in the future”, commented Ole Krieger and Nicolaj Kamensek, the Directors of the former Accelerated IT Services.

“For our clients, we want to be a reliable partner who can fulfil the many challenges facing a modern IT infrastructure operator, not only today but in the future. We are convinced that we can achieve a substantial improvement in our services through this merger and are heading in the right direction”, says Jerome Evans, Director of First Colo GmbH.

“This step is a logical development in our growth strategy within the datacentre and managed services sector”, explains Tilman Au, Co-CEO of diva-e, responsible for M&A. He continues, “In the first 18 months of collaboration within the group, we have already achieved considerable synergies, particularly in the digital platforms area. Our datacentres clearly set us apart from the competition and confirm our position as a digital operator with substantial technical competence.”

The merged company will be jointly led by the former directors.
