The news market is undergoing rapid change. The Deutsche Presse-Agentur (dpa) is responding to this challenge by creating a new production infrastructure. diva-e was commissioned to design and implement this after an extensive three-month evaluation and selection process.
Evaluation of CTK's MRS and technical analysis
Process and requirements analysis as well as prototype creation and proof of concept
Introduction of a new production infrastructure
Networking of all locations (1,000 correspondents)
The dpa decided to set up a completely new production infrastructure in order to keep pace with the changing conditions in the media industry and the rapid development of online media. An important goal is also to continue to guarantee the high dpa quality in terms of reliability and speed without any restrictions.
The successful MRS system from the CTK news agency was used as the core of the new production infrastructure and adapted to dpa's needs over a project period of around two and a half years. The special challenge of the project is the agile implementation during ongoing operations as well as the simultaneous integration of all existing databases.
The news agency system Ines, which emerged from the project process, offers editorial offices a powerful tool to adapt their work even faster and more flexibly to changing customer requirements in the future.
Legacy systems were successively replaced and all locations with 1,000 correspondents were successfully networked so that they now have text, image, audio and video bundled in one system.
