Innovative Customer Interaction Portal for PFERD

The German tool manufacturer August Rüggeberg markets its products under the brand name PFERD. The internationally oriented, more than 200-year-old family-owned company is a leader in the development, production, consulting as well as distribution of tool solutions for surface finishing and cutting of materials. PFERD proves that tradition can seamlessly go hand in hand with digital transformation through intensive collaboration with diva-e and technology partner Spryker as well as a CMS provider. The digital experts replaced the SAP-based web store with a new, modern and scalable platform, integrated it perfectly into the corporate website and transferred PFERD's premium image into the digital world.


Contemporary B2B portal with store system

PFERD not only manufactures tools of the highest quality, but also stands by the user as a reliable partner at all times. Nowadays, this also means that customers must be provided with a contemporary B2B e-commerce system. PFERD therefore wanted a modern, scalable platform, including a store system, which could be effortlessly integrated into the corporate website of the traditional company. Priority was given to the customer-oriented presentation of the products in order to guide users to the relevant information with just a few clicks. A high degree of automation for easy operation of the platform was also required.


Technology partner in a class of its own

As a specialist for e-commerce and system integration, diva-e took on the challenge of replacing the old store system with a modern technological platform. With a strong team, the digital experts did everything they could to integrate the new solution into the existing architecture landscape and SAP system. The close cooperation with technology partner Spryker and CMS provider diva-e made use of in the consulting process. Thanks to the large number of joint projects, a solution was quickly found for PFERD. The choice fell on the Commerce OS store system from Spryker as a platform-as-a-service in the cloud. Here, the modular architecture on a future-proof and scalable technology basis was convincing, which diva-e could supplement with numerous B2B features. It was also important to set up interfaces and integrations for the content management system (CMS) and the product information management system (PIM). Both the PIM system and SAP were connected via TXP Integration Hub. The benefit: data is consolidated and aggregated so that it can be exchanged with the Spryker platform in a straightforward and hassle-free manner. After extensive user acceptance testing, the tool manufacturer's new B2B platform went live.


Re-platforming for content and commerce

Thanks to diva-e's content and commerce expertise and Spryker's solutions, PFERD received an innovative customer interaction portal that enables the traditional company to assert itself in the digital world. The new, contemporary and scalable platform offers a modern user experience that is tailored to the needs of B2B customers. The customer now also experiences the tool manufacturer's high quality promise online. In order to make the perfect combination of content and commerce available to customers worldwide, the portal has already been rolled out in various countries. In addition to Germany, these include Italy, Austria, Poland, Sweden, Spain, South Africa, Turkey, the UK, and soon Belgium and the Netherlands.
